Owyhee canyon
BY Anna Bates
description
The Owyhee Canyonlands incorporates southwestern Idaho, southeastern Oregon, and northeast Nevada. Three counties (one from each state) make up the canyonlands. Filled with everything from sagebrush to ice-capped mountains, it makes for breath- taking views.
One would expect the sagebrush to be in Nevada, but the sagebrush is actually in the Idaho area that has the sagebrush. The Idaho portion of the canyon also contains the Owyhee mountains which are visible from the Boise area.
Activities include hiking, bouldering, scrambling, and canyoneering. White water rafting is also available but it is not for the inexperienced rafter.

Best times to visit and fees
The best time of year to visit is the Spring and Fall months because the winter gets too cold and you can't do any of the activities. The summer months can get up over 100 degrees, so it can be too hot. There are no fees associated with the Owyhee Canyonlands.
